Classic New Kitchen in this Ottawa Home Renovation in Rideau Gardens

Vision:

It’s amazing this family of 4 with kids in elementary school managed at all with a kitchen that was really more of a corridor, with three doorways and a makeshift work station. They also desperately needed a powder room and mud room solution and hoped to be able to integrate it into their main floor that already had a bit of a tight layout. Their beautiful back yard was difficult to access because of its extreme grade changes. This prevented them from really enjoying it so they also wished for a wisely integrated deck that would allow them to reclaim this lost oasis.

Transformation:

This is a classically styled home with a beautifully proportioned living room. Our goal was to combine the dining and kitchen areas in a complimentary way. We tucked a tonne of storage both for kitchen and mudroom plus a dining buffet and desk into quite a compact space elegantly. A classic grey shaker door outfitted this very efficient galley kitchen finished off with pretty brass details and beautiful Hanstone quartz countertops. The classic subway tile backsplash with handmade tiles, makes for a kitchen that looks just right and like it was always here.

We tucked a tiny powder room in with a wall hung toilet to save space with a sleek counter and hand washing sink.
Custom millwork that compliments the kitchen cabinetry was added all along the back wall to provide ample storage and an integrated family desk with a window to look out. Their new exterior stairway and deck crowns their home with a lovely al fresco dining experience.
